Realm Royale Armor Guide

[rrarmg_01]

Armor in Realm Royale is found in chests or looted from defeated opponents. As such, there aren’t any opportunities to choose which armor you equip. Pick up armor as you find it, automatically swapping out lower-tier armor for higher-tier armor. Unlike weapons, there aren’t different types of armor to choose from, just one variety of armor for each armor slot, increasing in protection as it increases in rarity. There is no strategy for equipping armor. If you see a piece of armor on the ground, try to pick it up. The armor will only equip if it is better than the piece of armor you are already wearing in that slot.

There are four armor slots: helm, breastplate, gauntlets, and greaves. Each piece of armor adds points to your overall armor score (which starts at 200 with no armor equipped) and provides a buff at the epic and legendary levels.

Legendary armor can be taken from fallen foes or crafted at a forge for 60 shards a pop. When crafting legendary armor, you aren’t able to choose which piece of armor is produced, though it won’t ever be something you already have. Also note that you can only craft one piece of legendary armor per forge, so acquiring an entire set will require you visit multiple forges.

The increased durability and ability buffs added by the legendary armor means that equipping a full set of legendary armor is pretty much a necessity for winning a round of Realm Royale. Until you’ve crafted a legendary weapon and a full set of legendary armor, finding the means to do so should be your top priority.

While you don’t have any choice about which order you acquire armor, it’s still worthwhile to know what each piece of armor does:

HELM

[rrarmg_02]

Common: +100 Armor
Rare:
+150 Armor
Epic:
+200 Armor, 35% headshot damage reduction
Legendary:
+250 Armor, 50% headshot damage reduction

The helm offers reduced headshot damage, which can be a significant boon when facing off against skilled opponents.

BREASTPLATE

[rrarmg_03]

Common: +100 Armor
Rare:
+150 Armor
Epic:
+200 Armor, +5 health regeneration per second
Legendary:
+250 Armor, +15 health regeneration per second

The breastplate provides a passive heal buff. This buff stacks with the Warrior’s passive heal ability. The healing is slow, so it’s not enough to make a huge difference during a battle, but it can save you some potions outside of combat.

GAUNTLETS

[rrarmg_04]

Common: +100 Armor
Rare:
+150 Armor
Epic:
+200 Armor, +10% weapon reload and swap speed
Legendary:
+250 Armor, +30% weapon reload and swap speed

The gauntlets increase weapon reload and swap speed, which stacks with the Hunter’s passive swap buff. When stacked with the Hunter’s skill, the gauntlets allow you to reload and swap weapons extremely quickly. For the Assassin class, whose legendary weapon must be reloaded after every shot, acquiring the Legendary Gauntlets is a must.

GREAVES

[rrarmg_05]

Common: +100 Armor
Rare:
+150 Armor
Epic:
+200 Armor, +5% mount movement speed
Legendary:
+250 Armor, +15% mount movement speed

Greaves increase the speed of your mount. This doesn’t sound like much at first, especially considering you don’t use your mouth in the middle of combat. However, mobility is very important to Realm Royale, and that small bit of increased movement speed can be the difference between escaping a tough situation and an early defeat.
